Sentences & Silence

I did not come with a spoon
to feed you

I came with a pen
to form words into sentences
to fill you up

I hid some sentences away
in drawers
and under cushions

So sometimes we could share silence
together

You said things in the dark
that you were too scared to say
in the yellow light of day

We did not need bread
nor butter
We feasted only on words
fat with truth
dripping with the warmth of surrenderto feed you
